Solicitors walk 10km for Pro-Bono

On Monday 19th May, Oliver Lawson from the Kingston office headed a team of intrepid souls to stride round 10k’s worth of London’s legal landmarks in aid of the London Legal Support Services Trust.

Braving the crowds, the colemans-ctts team joined such luminaries as the Rt. Hon. the Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers (aka the Lord Chief Justice), the Rt. Hon. Sir Anthony Clarke (Master of the Rolls), the President of the Law Society, Andrew Oldroyd OBE and countless Partners from major City firms in putting their feet on the line in support of pro-bono charities across London.

In all, some 4,000 lawyers demonstrated the charitable side of the profession and the colemans-ctts team of Jonathan Law, Choy Lau, Lorna Valcin, Dawn Cockle, Sarah Denchfield, Moira Welch and Oliver Lawson raised over £150.00 in support of the cause. Rumours that this was a glorified pub crawl are entirely unfounded - progress round the course was smooth, apart from one instance where an enforced go-slow(er) was experienced, thanks to crowds of barristers furtively queuing to find an opportunity to push the members of the Inland Revenue Prosecutions Office into the Thames.

The walk took the team some 2 ½ hours in total (including one drinks break opposite the Houses of Parliament), after which everyone enjoyed further liquid refreshments, first in the Law Society bar courtesy of Lexis Nexis.

Thanks to all who took part, although the walk is finished – you can still donate online at www.justgiving.co.uk/colemansctts.
